Life has a funny way of throwing curveballs when you least expect them. As someone who thrives on being active and on the go, being sidelined from driving, working out, and anything that involves walking normally has been a significant adjustment. But as the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
The Struggle is Real
Typically after a long day’s work, Crossfit was my refuge. At minimum, I’d walk on my treadmill while working. Sometimes, walking up to 20k steps during a work day. Now I struggle just walking at a normal place. Any quick moves can cause cause a sharp radiating pain and while that doesn’t happen often, my incentive to “heal” and just be still is highly incentivized… and this is where my journey has begun. Its amazing how much time I’ve had to do things that I’ve always been curious about. Here are some of the things I’ve started.
Starting This Blog
One of the first things I decided to dive into was starting this blog. Blogging has always intrigued me, but I never had the time (or made time) to explore it fully. Now, with ample time on my hands, I took the plunge. The hardest part for me is definitely this part. The part where there is some level of vulnerability in sharing your journey. The other “hard parts”:
- Choosing a Blog Name
- Choosing a Niche (Still really haven’t done that)
- Setting a schedule
- Being Consistent
The Easy part though:
- Actually setting up the blog in WordPress
- Choosing a Host Site (I just went with the 2 cheapest wordpress recommended site)
Exploring AI
Another fascinating area I’ve delved into is artificial intelligence. It’s incredible to see how AI is transforming different industries and how it can be leveraged for personal projects. I had already been familiarizing myself with using Microsoft CoPilot but the other sites I’ve explored are:
MidJourney: An AI application that spits out graphics and writing based on prompts you give it. I’ve yet to explore other avenues.
Invideo AI: Did you know that you can make videos just by entering prompts and this app will just spit back fully edited videos at you? Clearly I have no followers and I’m lucky if more than 1 person reads my blog, so you know this isn’t sponsored, but my mind was seriously blown! I already have some ideas for creating a faceless YouTube channel of topics that interest me, although full disclosure, AI gets its information from the internet and as we know, not everything in the internet is true so fact checking is a must!
Setting Up a Print-on-Demand Shop
Lastly, I ventured into the world of print-on-demand. Setting up an online shop where I can sell custom-designed products through Printify. I’m still not ready to share what I’ve done thus far but its been fun messing with different prints and designs.
Finding Silver Linings
While the road to recovery is still ongoing, I’m grateful for the unexpected opportunities this time has provided. It’s a reminder that even in challenging times, there’s always room for growth and new beginnings.
I still don’t know what will become of this blog, but open to any feedback anyone may have.
